A cake recommender app for you and your friends.
PROJECT BRIEF
EggMaster is a recommender app aims to create a fun experience of making a cake with friends; bonding with each other through this cake making experience. It is more than making a delicious perfect-in-taste cake.
STORY
Scenario
Ashley and Charlotte both love cakes and decided to go to the new cake DIY store that has just opened up in Taipei, Taiwan. A cake store provides a platform for people to make cakes with friends and family; there are different flavors and types of cake for them to choose from, with ingredients, equipment, and recipes all provided.
About EggMaster
EggMaster is a recommender system that can gather the preferences from each group member and come up with a recommended cake that best fits all the preferences of the group members.
The app requires 2+ participants:
GROUP LEADER (1) Create the group
GROUP MEMBERS (1+) Join the group created by the group leader by entering the group code.

Problem
Everyone has a different preference in taste, so it could be difficult for a group to decide what cake to make that includes everyone’s preferences.
Solution
The store gave Ashley and Charlotte each a tablet with EggMaster installed.

THE PROCESS
Design Concept
The recommender system EggMaster categorized all ingredients by feelings/tastes. Reason is that whenever we are craving something, we are actually craving that specific "feeling" or "taste", it is the taste and the feeling of the food that satisfies our sweet tooth.
Recommender System
In EggMaster, the customer chooses their preferred ingredients based on the feelings/taste they are craving at the moment. For example, Rich&Creamy, Textured Bikes, Feelin’ Fresh. The ingredients are categorized by doing the Card Sorting Activity.
After every group member have selected their preferences, the system would customized the cake using four components: Cake batter, Filling, Dressing, and Topping.
The end result would be a combination of ingredients that are mostly favored by all group members, and omitted the ingredients that the group members do not like.
