Under the Sea, Under the Plastics
An interactive sculptural work to raise awareness of plastic usage in daily life.
This is an interactive sculptural work, aims to raise awareness and promote action of reusing plastic. Plastic accumulation in the ocean is a serious environmental problem that is also a huge threat to marine animals. A lot of people are not aware and continued to favor plastic over other reusable products for its convenience.
The goal for this work is to make people understand that their choice matters—the audience have to choose between a styrofoam cup or a reusable cup; if he choose the reusable cup, nothing would happen; if he choose the styrofoam cup, the shadow would appear. The shadow is casted by the plastic assemblage sculpture. Demonstration see the video below.
